Summer wildflower sessions are open for booking! This location is fantastic – a beautiful greenhouse, an acre of wildflowers and manicured flower beds, fences and benches and more! We LOVE shooting here, it’s the perfect summer spot to capture warm, happy memories with your loved ones. Summer mini sessions are quick and low stress – perfect for kiddos, pets, and anyone else with a short attention span! There are limited time slots and these will go fast!
When you love something as much as Ryan loves swimming, you can`t help but stop and take it all in, fully appreciating the passion. The second he jumped in, I could just feel it, the joy of being exactly in his element, and all was right with the world. It was electric, and I was so glad to be there to capture a glimpse into his world!

I definitely left a piece of my heart at Cedarville today. Not having my girl at home is hard – harder than I’d like to admit. Lots of tears today! Every session I do is special. Being able to remember these moments in time exactly as they are, while the years continue to march on, is a gift in so many ways. Not just for you, but for me too.
But taking senior photos for the friends that my kids have grown up with from infancy…. whew. I hold these sessions dear. It is such a joy to have watched the girls grow up together, to see the wonderful humans they have grown in to.
Sadie is one such amazing, wonderful human. An old soul. Absolutely gorgeous inside and out. She`s caring, and in such an intuitive way… she sees you, cares about what makes you tick, and feels what you are feeling. I`m not sure how she`s already a senior, but here we are. I can`t WAIT to see what she decides to do after high school. It`s going to be amazing!
I absolutely love doing these sessions of multiple family generations together. Especially when family members are coming in from other states to see each other! These times together are PRICELESS. Life is BUSY. We are all going in a million different directions. To be able to slow down and spend these moments together is so important. Freezing this moment of time in photos that we can look back on in the years to come when things DO slow down… there is no value we can give to that.
So. When this amazing family contacted me about doing a family session with three generations to celebrate Sue & Rocky`s 50th wedding anniversary, I jumped at the chance! We had a BLAST!

To say I love this session isn`t quite being truthful.
I`ve been taking Olivia`s photos since she was in .. middle school?! Maybe early high school. I did family photos for her amazing family (my beautiful name twin, @whiskful_thinking_by_christy !!) and then her senior photos, followed by sessions with Nick, their engagement, their wedding, maternity photos, family photos, you name it! I have been incredibly honored to capture their story. Their life journey. This particular session was so sweet because we captured these memories in the very spot where they got married!! (The Barnhardt Farm is absolutely amazing. Just gorgeous.) Priceless!!!
So I don`t just love this session. It means the WORLD to me. Love you all, Olivia, Nick, and boys! I couldn`t be HAPPIER to see you welcome baby # 3 – cannot WAAAAIT to meet him!!!

Eric and I had the most amazing weekend in Michigan. We began by shooting a wedding for our friends and celebrating them! It was wonderful! Then we headed out for a magical whirlwind day and a half of exploring Grand Haven and Saugatuck. We stayed in the most wonderful bed & breakfast in Grand Haven and found absolutely amazing restaurants and coffee, a spot to drop our paddle board in, and a fun light show on the canal. The following day we explored Saugatuck, the most adorable little beach town. We want to go back and bring the girls with us! So fun. 10/10 highly recommend time away with your spouse. It was an immense honor and joy to be part of this very special session with them. From the very first moment of meeting them, I could see they were perfect together. Top 10 Locations for Family Photography in Columbus Ohio
Let’s face it, there are hundreds of beautiful locations for family sessions in the Columbus metro area! When it comes down to it, a good photographer can make any old place look cool with the right sort of angle, composition, and depth of field. All that to say, when you’ve been in the business of taking photos with families since 2012 like I have (how is this even possible?!?!), you are always on the lookout for new spots to shoot in. I don’t have my own studio (maybe one day!) and usually prefer to shoot outdoors, so the location possibilities are endless. This small list is a mix of newer spots I’ve found and loved and some old favorites. I hope photographers and clients alike find it useful! Here are my top 10 locations for family photography in Columbus, Ohio!
1. Be Changed Studios
Location: Westerville Website: https://www.bechangedstudio.com/ What I love: Fantastic natural light, lots of photo nooks, updated seasonal decor
What’s NOT to love?! This location is actually three separate studios rented out by the hour: the Loft, the Barn, and the Camper. All are decorated in a beautiful, warm, modern farmhouse style with whitewashed walls and neutral furniture. The Loft and Barn are stocked with seasonal props and greens/flowers, studio backdrops, and many little vignettes to shoot in. Natural light streams through the large windows, even on cloudy days. There are restrooms in each! The owners are fantastic. I really love this place, and it’s 100% worth the money when you need an indoor studio to shoot in!
This beautiful place is a photographer’s dream! And no wonder, it is owned by a wonderfully talented photographer! The property has two separate studios that are rented out by the hour: the Greenhouse and the Barn, both surrounded by 2 acres of manicured gardens and fields of wildflowers. I haven’t had the chance to shoot here yet, but I have many sessions booked for the coming months when wildflowers are blooming! The booking process was easy and straightforward, and the property’s rules clearly stated. I’m SO excited to shoot here! Come back soon to see lots of photos I’ll be sharing from this location.
This park is a tried and true favorite. The gardens are gorgeous and well cared for year round, with many seasonal plants and displays. There are so many great spaces for photos, including the rose garden, the secret garden, the gazebo, the waterfall, multiple bridges, the tree house… the list goes on! The wonderful mix of buildings, gardens, and natural foliage make this the perfect place for capturing family photos.
Location: Westerville Website:https://uptownwestervilleinc.com/ What I love: Quaint old town vibes, lots of color and texture, beautiful store fronts
I’ll never tire of shooting in Uptown. The historic brick buildings, tree lined streets, colorful store fronts, and tucked away alleys provide a diverse and appealing backdrop. There are little photo vignettes everywhere you look! I love the pots overflowing with colorful flowers hanging from streetlamps and placed along the walkways during the warmer months. The shops and restaurants are fanstastic… Not to mention, there are TWO great coffee shops to choose from, which pretty much makes it a perfect place to me.
Highbanks is probably my favorite metro park to shoot in, mainly due to the easy river bed access. Shooting in a river bed or on the shore gives so many beautiful texture and background options, and is something different from other parks around. And isn’t flowing water so lovely and calming? It’s nice to dip our feet in the water during hot temps as well. Highbanks also offers many beautiful walking paths, wooded areas, and fields of tall grasses and flowers.
Location: Bexley Website:https://bexley.org/jeffreymansion/ What I love: Historic setting, mix of manicured and natural foliage, large picturesque outdoor staircase
The grounds of this estate are gorgeous. Not only is the building itself elegant and beautiful, but the surrounding outbuildings and park are just as perfect. Wooded areas, stone walls and sweeping staircases, and tucked away gardens are just a few of the lovely areas to explore. The inside of the building is able to be rented out for events, but the outside and grounds are on public property and available for use anytime!
This location has it all. The beautiful restored white barn, elegant brick outbuildings, a serene pond and bridge, and grassy field stretching out from the property. It really is a photographer’s dream! This is a public park, but the barn hosts many private events. There are open public hours in which you can shoot indoors, however! This location is beautiful at any time of year, even in winter. You can’t go wrong choosing this one.
Location: Pataskala Website: https://www.coopersknollfarm.com/ What I love: Country farm, various adorable farm animals: highland cows, miniature donkeys, goats, rabbits, and more!
I love this place so very much. Cooper’s Knoll Farm is an incredible petting zoo farm owned by a wonderful family, Jena and Richard Cooper, who pour so much love and care into their animals, staff, community, and visitors. They have lots of community events, home school classes, farm tours, petting zoo days, and more. Farm animals are typically included in my photo shoots: highland cows, miniature donkeys, and sometimes goats or other farm animals! The owners or staff are present for the entire shoot to oversee the animals and keep them fed while we are there. This is a fantastic and fun option for family photos!

9. The Granville Inn

The Granville Inn is an elegant historic hotel surrounded by the quaint streets and colorful shop windows of Granville. Directly across the street is the Buxton Inn, a charming inn and tavern filled with lots of character and history!

Another tried and true favorite, the Columbus Park of Roses will never disappoint. The beautiful rose gardens stretch out across the grounds, with wrought iron gazebos, a gorgeous fountain, and other timeless structures sprinkled throughout. There is no shortage of unique foliage and photo nooks here!
