Seniors of 2026! Think senior photos are just for yearbooks?
Think again!!
📸 Senior photos can be highly personalized and FUN.
Let me help – I’ll tailor the session to your personality, hobbies, activities, and vibe. We’ll capture who they are now, in this fleeting last year of high school as they embark on the journey of adulthood. And we’ll have a blast doing it. 🙂 Drop me a quick message and I’ll help you start the process!
That’s exactly how it went with Carson! He was brimming with charisma and happiness, and was willing to try any pose or idea we threw at him. Not only was he outgoing and fun, he was also kind and considerate. If our futures are in the hands of people like him, we are going to be just fine!! I wish you the very best at OSU Carson – I could not be more excited for you!!!
What are cozy, warm, and filled with cheer?! Indoor Christmas sessions, of course! In addition to the outdoor Christmas minis that I offer every year at the tree farm, I would also like to offer a couple of indoor Christmas sessions at a gorgeous indoor barn! These are fantastic for babies, kiddos, or people like me who don’t like to be cold!!
The sessions will cost a little more than minis in order to help cover the studio rental fee, but will also include 7 full resolution digital images instead of just the 5 that usually comes with minis.
I will turn the photos around quickly so that you can order your holiday cards (within a week)! There are only a couple of these, so if you’d like more info, let me know soon!
Mini Sessions vs Full Sessions: Which Is Right for You?
Choices… choices!
I realize this topic would have been good to post about a few months ago, before my fall season was almost fully booked! But I’ve been wanting to post about this topic for awhile, so it’s better late than never, am I right?!
Choosing between a mini session and full session can feel tricky. Many families in Columbus and Westerville ask me this same question, so I wanted to lay out the differences here to help you decide!
As a Columbus family photographer, I offer both mini sessions all around Columbus and Westerville Ohio during specific times of the year, and full sessions all year long. Both options create beautiful family photos. The right pick depends on what your family needs right now. Let me break down exactly what each option offers so you can pick with confidence.
What Is a Mini Session?
Mini sessions are short, quick photo shoots that happen only on specific dates. I set up at one beautiful location and photograph several families back to back.
Each mini session lasts for 20 minutes. You get focused time to capture your family’s current stage. The price point is lower than full sessions because of the shorter time frame and less images.
These sessions fill up fast. I only offer limited spots on each mini session day. Families love them for updated photos and holiday cards.
The quick pace can keep kids engaged as they don’t have time to get bored or cranky. However, having more time for them to warm up and open up can often be a better choice. More on that shortly!
I often photograph families with young kiddos, and parents sometimes worry that 20 minutes won’t be enough time. But we move quickly from pose to pose, keeping their interest the whole time.
Mini sessions work great when you need fresh photos but want to keep things quick, simple and affordable.
What Is a Full Session?
Full sessions give you much more time and flexibility. These sessions last 45 to 90 minutes depending on your family’s needs.
You can pick your location (even two if you want!) and start time. We can change outfits if you want. There’s time for candid play, different poses, and including pets or extended family.
The slower pace helps everyone relax. This works especially well for shy kids or toddlers who need time to warm up to me. Some little ones take 10 or 15 minutes to feel comfortable. Full sessions give us that breathing room, whereas if we’d been doing a mini session, the kiddos would be warmed up just as we finished.
Full sessions are also perfect for big milestones. Think senior photos, maternity shoots, anniversary celebrations, or large family gatherings. When you want to document an important time in your family’s life, full sessions deliver.
I can get creative with different spots at the same location. We might start by a lake, then move to a field, then end under some pretty trees. This variety gives you many different looks in one session.
The extra time also means more photos for you to choose from. Instead of a few perfect shots, you get a whole story of your family’s personality.
Mini Session vs Full Session: Key Differences
Here’s a simple breakdown to help you see the main differences:
Mini Session
Quick and affordable option
Perfect for holiday cards and seasonal themes
Limited spots available on set dates
Less variety in poses and one predetermined location
Great for busy families who want a few updated photos
5 hand edited, full resolution digital images of your choice from an online gallery, plus the option to purchase more
Full Session
Flexible scheduling and location choices – completely customizable to you
Lots of variety and creative options
Better for big milestones and special occasions
More time for kids to warm up and relax – no stress!
Perfect when you want a complete photo story
Includes all of my hand edited, full resolution digital images from an online gallery, usually 60+ photos!
Both options create beautiful family photos. The choice comes down to your current needs, schedule, and budget.
How to Decide Which Is Right for Your Family
Mini sessions work best when you want updated photos without a big time or money commitment. They’re perfect if you need photos for holiday cards or just want to capture how your kids have grown since last year, what stage of life they’re in, etc.
Full sessions are the better choice when you’re celebrating something special. Maybe your oldest is graduating or you’re expecting a new baby. These milestone moments deserve the extra time and attention a full session provides.
Think about your family’s comfort level too. If your kids are naturally outgoing, a mini session might be perfect. If someone needs extra time to open up and feel comfortable, book a full session.
Consider your goals for the photos. Do you just need a few great shots for cards and social media? A mini session delivers exactly that. Do you want a complete collection that tells your family’s story? Go with a full session.
👉 Here’s a tip from years of photographing Columbus families: always book early if you want a mini session. They sell out incredibly fast in our area. I’m talking within hours or days of announcing them.
Investment and Value
Both mini and full sessions are investments in your family’s memories. You can find detailed pricing information on my Investment Page.
When you’re ready to book, visit my Booking page to get started.
I don’t see photography as just a transaction. These photos become your family’s legacy. Years from now, you’ll treasure having these moments captured, whether from a quick mini session or an extended full session!
There’s no wrong choice between mini and full sessions. Both deliver beautiful, professional photos. The right option is simply what works best for your family’s current situation.
Some families book mini sessions every season to track how their kids grow. Other families prefer one full session per year to create a comprehensive collection. Both approaches create wonderful family photo traditions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do mini sessions work well for toddlers? Yes, often the short format works in your favor. Toddlers stay engaged when we move quickly. They don’t have time to get bored or overwhelmed.
Can we bring pets? For full sessions, absolutely. For mini sessions, it depends on the location rules and setup. I’ll let you know what’s possible when you book. (You know I always prefer to have our furry family members included in our photos!)
What if my child needs more time to warm up? Book a full session to allow extra space for comfort. Some kids need 10 or 15 minutes to feel relaxed with me. Full sessions give us that time.
Will I get enough photos from a mini session? You’ll choose 5 of your favorite images from a small online gallery of strong, frame-worthy shots, perfect for cards and gifts. You”ll have the option to purchase more images, whether individuals or the entire gallery.
How far in advance should I book? Mini sessions sell out quickly, often within days of announcement. Full sessions are best booked 4 to 6 weeks in advance for the best date and time options, but always send me a message, either way I will do my very best to get you on my schedule!

What to Wear for Your Family Photo Session in Columbus, Ohio
Picture this: you’ve booked that perfect family photo session, the date is circled on your calendar, and then it hits you—what on earth is everyone going to wear?
If you’re like most families I work with here in Columbus and Westerville, this question probably keeps you up at night. I’ve seen parents frantically texting me photos of outfits the night before their session, wondering if little Johnny’s dinosaur shirt will “ruin” the whole look. (Spoiler alert: it won’t, but we’ll get to that!)
Here’s the thing—choosing what to wear for family photos doesn’t have to feel like solving a puzzle with missing pieces. With a few simple tips from me, (your favorite Columbus family photographer, of course!!!), you’ll have everyone looking coordinated, comfortable, and authentically you without the stress headache that usually comes with outfit planning.
Dive with me into the secrets that make family photos feel effortless and look amazing.
Start with a Color Palette
Think of your family’s outfits like a beautiful painting—you want harmony, not chaos. The magic starts with picking 2-3 main colors that play nicely together, then building everyone’s look around those shades.
Here’s what I tell all my families: avoid the temptation to put everyone in identical navy blue shirts or white button ups. Instead, choose one person (probably Mom, let’s be honest) to wear a pattern or the “statement” piece, then have everyone else wear solid colors pulled from that same palette.
Living in Columbus means we get to experience all four gorgeous seasons, and each one offers its own color inspiration:
Spring in Ohio: Soft pastels work beautifully against our blooming trees—think blush pink, sage green, and cream
Summer sessions: Cool neutrals keep everyone comfortable—whites, light grays, and soft or navy blues
Fall magic: This is Ohio’s time to shine! Warm earth tones like rust, olive, mustard, and cream look stunning against our changing leaves
Winter wonder: Rich jewel tones add warmth to cooler days—deep burgundy, navy, and emerald green
👉 I want your photos to be authentic, reflecting who you are; the key is choosing colors that make sense for your family’s personality. If your crew lives in jeans and casual tees, don’t suddenly go formal just for photos. Work with what feels authentic to you.
Ready to take the guesswork out of color selection? Let me help you choose colors and inspire your outfits for your photo session!
Coordinate, Don’t Match
Let’s clear up the biggest misconception in family photo planning: matching does not equal good photos. In fact, when everyone wears the exact same thing, you end up looking more like a uniform catalog than a real family.
Coordinating is where the magic happens. It’s the difference between looking like you all raided the same store rack versus looking like a family who naturally belongs together.
Here’s how it works in practice: Let’s say Mom chooses a floral blouse with navy, blush, and cream flowers. Dad could wear a solid navy button-down, your daughter might rock a cream cardigan over dark jeans, and little brother could sport a blush-colored polo. Everyone’s connected by the color story, but each person gets to shine individually.
👉 Pro photographer tip: The night before your session, lay everyone’s complete outfits on a bed together. Take a step back and look at them as a collection. Do they feel like they belong in the same family portrait? If something feels off, it’s much easier to swap out a shirt the night before than to realize it during the session.
This bedroom test has saved countless families from the “why does everyone look so mismatched?” panic that can happen when you’re getting dressed in separate rooms on photo day.
Think Comfort First
Here’s something I’ve learned after photographing hundreds of families: the most beautiful outfit in the world won’t matter if your child is tugging at their collar every five seconds or if Dad’s shirt is so tight he can’t breathe properly.
I’ve had quite a few sessions where sweet kiddos spend half the session complaining about scratchy sweaters, itchy socks, or some other offending item of clothing. My own kiddos have done this too! Despite my best efforts with silly jokes and peek-a-boo games, the photos often show this discomfort. A quick outfit change to a backup t-shirt, etc, and suddenly all will be back to smiles and giggles!
Comfort checklist for your family:
Skip anything that feels tight, itchy, or requires constant adjustment
Avoid stiff collars on little ones (they photograph awkwardly anyway)
Choose breathable fabrics for those warm Ohio summer sessions
Layer thoughtfully for fall shoots—you can always remove a cardigan if it gets too warm
👉 Remember, your kids will be running around, sitting on the ground, and hopefully laughing a lot. Choose clothes that can handle real life, not just standing perfectly still in a department store.
Add Texture and Layers
Want to know a secret that instantly makes photos look more professional and interesting? Texture and layers are your best friends.
Think about it—when you look at a magazine cover or a beautiful family portrait, there’s usually something more going on than just flat, solid-colored shirts. Maybe it’s a cozy knit cardigan, a denim jacket thrown over shoulders, or a soft scarf that adds visual interest.
Here’s how to add that magazine-worthy depth to your family’s look:
Easy layering pieces that photograph beautifully:
Cardigans (especially chunky knits for fall sessions)
Vests over button-down shirts
Denim or leather jackets
Scarves (but keep them simple—no busy patterns)
Blazers for a more polished look
The key is not going overboard. You want layers that look intentional, not like you’re heading out for a blizzard in July.
👉 And here’s a mom hack, for free: keep accessories minimal and kid-friendly. That gorgeous statement necklace might look amazing on you, but if it’s going to smack your toddler in the head during snuggles or become an irresistible teether for your sweet baby, it’s not photo-session friendly. Save the elaborate jewelry for date night instead!
Patterns and Prints: Use with Care
Patterns can be your photo session’s best friend or worst enemy—it all depends on how you use them.
Here’s the golden rule: one patterned piece per family, and keep it subtle. I’m talking small florals, tiny polka dots, or thin stripes .
What works beautifully:
Mom in a delicate floral blouse with everyone else in coordinating solids
Dad in a subtle plaid shirt with the rest of the family in solid colors from that same palette
A child in a small polka dot dress as the “accent” piece
What to avoid like the plague:
Large logos or brand names (they date photos instantly)
Cartoon characters (unless it’s truly part of your family’s personality)
Bold stripes (they can create weird visual effects in photos)
Everyone in different patterns (total chaos!)
Think of patterns as the seasoning in your outfit recipe—a little goes a long way.
Shoes and Accessories
Let’s talk about the details that can make or break your family photos—starting with what’s on everyone’s feet.
The shoe situation: Closed-toe shoes almost always look more polished in family portraits. Sometimes sparkly sandals are adorable for the girls, but steer clear of shoes that will be distracting in photos, especially if you’re sitting on the ground or have legs crossed.
Here’s what works well:
Clean white sneakers (if they fit your family’s casual style)
Brown or black dress shoes
Boots for fall sessions
Canvas shoes like Converse or Vans
What to skip:
Those neon green athletic shoes your son lives in (unless bright colors are intentionally part of your palette)
Flip-flops or sandals that look too casual for the rest of your outfit (sometimes these can be okay for summer sessions – context matters!)
Beat-up shoes that have seen better days
Keep jewelry simple and cohesive: If Mom’s wearing gold jewelry, try to keep everyone else in the gold family too. Mixing metals isn’t wrong, but it can look unintentional in photos. Think delicate chains, simple stud earrings, and watches that complement rather than compete.
One last thing—if your little one has a beloved stuffed animal or blanket they can’t live without, embrace it! Some of my favorite photos include those special comfort items that show your child’s personality. Just make sure it’s clean and fits the overall color scheme.
Where to Shop for Family Photo Outfits
You don’t need to break the bank to look amazing in photos. Some of my best-dressed families have shopped smart at budget-friendly stores that offer coordinating pieces perfect for family sessions.
My go-to recommendations for Columbus families:
Old Navy – Their family coordinating collections are a lifesaver, especially during back-to-school season. They often have matching adult and kids’ pieces in the same color families.
Gap – Great for classic, timeless pieces that photograph beautifully. Their neutral basics are perfect for building a coordinated look.
Target – Cat & Jack kids’ line and their adult basics section offer affordable options. Plus, you can often find everything you need in one trip.
Zara – For families who want a more elevated, fashion-forward look without designer prices. Their neutral palettes and quality fabrics photograph gorgeously.
American Eagle and Aerie – These are favorites of my daughters and I. They have great jeans and layering pieces in cuts perfect for all styles and seasons!
Pro shopping tip: Don’t feel like you need to buy entirely new wardrobes. Start with what you already own, then fill in gaps with one or two new pieces. Sometimes just adding a new cardigan or swapping out a shirt can completely transform your family’s look.
Many of these stores also offer online shopping with easy returns, which is perfect when you’re trying to coordinate colors across the whole family.
Photographer Tips From Me to You
After years of photographing families throughout Columbus and Westerville, I’ve picked up some insider secrets that can make your session day so much smoother. Consider these my little gifts to you:
Always pack a backup shirt for your youngest. Trust me on this one. I’ve seen perfectly planned outfits meet their match against a juice box, a muddy puddle, or an unexpected diaper blowout. Having a backup in the same color family means we can keep shooting without missing a beat.
Schedule haircuts 1-2 weeks before your session, not the day before. Fresh haircuts can look a little too “fresh” in photos, and kids especially need time to get used to their new look. Plus, if the haircut goes sideways (and we’ve all been there), you have time for damage control!
I’m always happy to review your outfit choices before the session. Seriously, I mean it. Text or email me photos of your planned outfits laid out together. Sarah and I have helped many families make small tweaks that elevated their photos from good to absolutely stunning. It’s part of what I love about working with families—we’re a team in creating something beautiful.
Weather backup plans are your friend. Ohio weather can be unpredictable, so I always recommend having a slightly warmer layer available, especially for fall and spring sessions. A cardigan or light jacket in your color palette can save the day if temperatures drop.
These little details might seem small, but they make all the difference between a stressful photo session and one where everyone can just focus on having fun together.
Frequently Asked Questions
Let me answer the questions that often pop up in my inbox. If you’re wondering about these things, trust me—so is every other family!
Should we all wear the same color? Nope! Coordinating beats matching every single time. When everyone wears identical colors, you lose the individual personalities that make your family unique. Instead, choose 2-3 colors that work together and distribute them across family members.
What colors look best in fall photos? Ohio’s autumn backdrop is absolutely gorgeous, so you want colors that complement rather than compete. Think warm neutrals like cream and beige, rich earth tones like rust and olive, and deep colors like mustard or burgundy. These shades look stunning against our changing leaves without getting lost in the scenery. (Thinking about fall mini sessions? See my Fall Mini Session Guide!)
Can we wear black? Absolutely! Black can look incredibly elegant in family photos. The key is not having everyone in head-to-toe black, which can feel heavy. Mix in some lighter colors—maybe Mom in a black top with cream pants, or Dad in a black sweater with khaki pants. Balance is everything.
Do you help clients choose outfits? YES! This is one of my favorite parts of working with families. I offer color palette guidance and I’m always happy to review outfit photos before your session. Many clients send me pictures of their planned looks, and we fine-tune them together. It takes the guesswork out of the process and ensures everyone feels confident on session day.
Ready to Create Beautiful Family Memories?
Planning what to wear for your family photos doesn’t have to keep you up at night anymore. With these tips, you’re well on your way to creating a coordinated, comfortable look that truly reflects your family’s personality.
Remember, the most important thing isn’t having perfect outfits—it’s capturing the love, laughter, and connection you share as a family. When you feel confident and comfortable in what you’re wearing, that joy shines through in every single photo.
Sarah and I genuinely love helping families put together looks that make them feel amazing. Sarah is a fashion stylist with a degree in fashion – don’t be afraid to ask for help! How much do family photos cost in Columbus Ohio?[…] Matching outfits can look stiff. Instead, pick a color palette and let everyone wear something within it. Fall Mini Sessions in Columbus: What to Expect & How to Book
Fall in Ohio is fast, beautiful, and full of color. It’s also one of the best times of year to update your family photos! If you’ve been searching for fall mini sessions in Columbus, Ohio or fall family photos in Westerville, you’re in the right place.
I’m Christy, a family and senior photographer based in Westerville, and I’m here to take the stress out of your family photo session! Whether you’ve booked a mini session before or it’s your first time, this guide will walk you through what to expect, how to prep, and how to book.
What Is a Fall Mini Session?
A mini session is a short and sweet version of a full session. It lasts only 20 minutes, which makes it perfect for families with young kids, busy schedules, or just a short attention span.
You still get a bunch of great photos. We just move a little faster and keep things simple.
With my minis, you’ll get 5 full resolution digital images of your choice. They are typically delivered to you a few weeks after your session in an online gallery, and you have the option to purchase more images – single photos or the full gallery!
Fall minis are great for:
Holiday cards
Updated family portraits
Gifts for grandparents
A quick and fun experience with beautiful results
👉 Unpopular opinion: Mini sessions are not always meant to replace a full length session. I truly believe that often MORE time is better, especially for kiddos. We can take our time to let them open up, build trust with me, explore the location and let them get some energy out without feeling the pressure of a small time frame. However, if you’re working with me for the first time or you just need a few beautiful, updated photos of your favorite people, a mini session might be perfect for you!
Why Fall is the Best Time for Photos in Columbus
Let’s be honest… Ohio fall doesn’t stick around long. One day it’s 70 and sunny, the next it’s cold and gray. But when it’s good—it’s REALLY good.
The colors in October are gorgeous. Warm golds, soft reds, crunchy leaves, and that cozy fall light you can’t get in summer.
It’s also the time of year when families are planning ahead. That’s why fall mini sessions book up fast!
What to Expect at Your Mini Session
Mini sessions are quick, fun, and low-stress. You’ll show up, Sarah and I will guide you through some relaxed poses, and we’ll keep things light and simple.
Here’s what you can expect:
20 minutes of shooting time
Light posing mixed with natural moments
A fun, low-pressure vibe
A full online gallery with a mix of posed and candid photos
These sessions are fast—but that’s part of the magic. It’s enough time to get what we need without tiring out the kids.
What’s Included in My Fall Mini Session
Each mini session includes:
20 minutes at a pre-selected location
A private online gallery delivered within 2 weeks
5 high-resolution digital images (with the option to purchase more)
Print release for personal use
Access to professional prints and albums if you’d like to order
Photographer Tips to Make It Easy
Here are a few quick tips to help you get the most from your session:
Choose comfy, coordinated outfits—no need to match perfectly
Layers are great for fall
Bring a snack or toy for little ones. I often bring a treat basket so kiddos can choose a reward at the end of our session!
Arrive early to avoid stress
Don’t worry about forced smiles—natural is better
Some of the best shots come from the in-between moments. Trust the process, and we’ll get something special!
Where We’ll Shoot: Favorite Fall Locations
The exact location for this year’s fall minis is still to be determined. I like to personally scout out the locations I have in mind to know exactly how they’re looking before I make my final decision. Here are a few of my go-to spots for fall mini sessions in Westerville and Columbus:
Each spot is family-friendly, easy to access, and full of pretty backdrops.
How to Book Your Fall Mini Session
Booking is simple! Just:
Visit the booking page
Pick your date and time
Pay the retainer to reserve your spot
Get your confirmation and prep info
👉 Spots go fast, so don’t wait too long!
FAQ
What should we wear? In a nutshell: Soft colors, layers, and comfy clothes work best. When you’re comfortable and confident, it shows! Avoid logos and neon.
What happens if it rains? We’ll reschedule. I keep backup dates ready just in case.
Can I bring grandparents or a pet? Minis are limited to one household. For more people, ask about a full session. You know I LOVE pets and always want to include them. Ask me first just in case this year’s location doesn’t allow them.
What if my child doesn’t smile? No stress! We focus on connection, not perfection. Real moments are just as beautiful.
Can we upgrade to a full session later? Yes! If you want more time, images, or a custom location, I’ve got options.
Final Thoughts
If the idea of family photos feels overwhelming, I can help.
My fall mini sessions are easy, quick, and actually fun! You’ll get beautiful images without the stress.

I definitely left a piece of my heart at Cedarville today. Not having my girl at home is hard – harder than I’d like to admit. Lots of tears today! But I also have overwhelming peace that she’s in the right place. I can’t speak highly enough of @cedarville and how well they care for their students. The gospel is the center of the entire place, it’s obvious, and it’s wonderful! See you soon @audreyloves_jesus !! #cedarville #1000days #cedarvillemom
Moving our girl in to her college dorm.,. How am I old enough to have a college kid??? 😭🤣 What an amazing place … @cedarville was so welcoming!! I couldn’t love it any more. Our girl is going to thrive here. I couldn’t be happier for her …. And I want to stay and experience this all over again!!! #cedarvilleuniversity #1000days
Every session I do is special. Being able to remember these moments in time exactly as they are, while the years continue to march on, is a gift in so many ways. Not just for you, but for me too.
But taking senior photos for the friends that my kids have grown up with from infancy…. whew. I hold these sessions dear. It is such a joy to have watched the girls grow up together, to see the wonderful humans they have grown in to.
Sadie is one such amazing, wonderful human. An old soul. Absolutely gorgeous inside and out. She`s caring, and in such an intuitive way… she sees you, cares about what makes you tick, and feels what you are feeling. I`m not sure how she`s already a senior, but here we are. I can`t WAIT to see what she decides to do after high school. It`s going to be amazing!
I absolutely love doing these sessions of multiple family generations together. Especially when family members are coming in from other states to see each other! These times together are PRICELESS. Life is BUSY. We are all going in a million different directions. To be able to slow down and spend these moments together is so important. Freezing this moment of time in photos that we can look back on in the years to come when things DO slow down… there is no value we can give to that.
So. When this amazing family contacted me about doing a family session with three generations to celebrate Sue & Rocky`s 50th wedding anniversary, I jumped at the chance! We had a BLAST!

To say I love this session isn`t quite being truthful.
I`ve been taking Olivia`s photos since she was in .. middle school?! Maybe early high school. I did family photos for her amazing family (my beautiful name twin, @whiskful_thinking_by_christy !!) and then her senior photos, followed by sessions with Nick, their engagement, their wedding, maternity photos, family photos, you name it! I have been incredibly honored to capture their story. Their life journey. This particular session was so sweet because we captured these memories in the very spot where they got married!! (The Barnhardt Farm is absolutely amazing. Just gorgeous.) Priceless!!!
So I don`t just love this session. It means the WORLD to me. Love you all, Olivia, Nick, and boys! I couldn`t be HAPPIER to see you welcome baby # 3 – cannot WAAAAIT to meet him!!!

They met on campus twenty years ago and have been together ever since. Campus has continued to be a place dear to their hearts, and now they often share this special place with their adorable, amazing son!
Gina & Andrew’s story had my heart from the very beginning, and it was such an honor for me to capture it! 💍🤍
Our stories are unique. Precious. From the wonderful, joyous things to the difficult things, the journey shapes us. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to help you keep these memories of YOUR story forever!!!

I am a sentimental creature. These things, places, and people that shape our stories, that make us unique, special, and who we are at the core, are precious and deserve to be documented. Celebrated.
My session with this wonderful family was such a celebration! Being able to photograph them on campus, where they met twenty years ago and have spent so many fond memories together, was incredibly special. I adored every moment! I loved how smiley Julian was, always finding joy in things around him. Thanks G fam for this amazing time capturing your story!

Eric and I had the most amazing weekend in Michigan. We began by shooting a wedding for our friends and celebrating them! It was wonderful! Then we headed out for a magical whirlwind day and a half of exploring Grand Haven and Saugatuck. We stayed in the most wonderful bed & breakfast in Grand Haven and found absolutely amazing restaurants and coffee, a spot to drop our paddle board in, and a fun light show on the canal. The following day we explored Saugatuck, the most adorable little beach town. We want to go back and bring the girls with us! So fun. 10/10 highly recommend time away with your spouse. Also making sure to have a healthy work life balance! Until next time, Michigan! #roadtrip #michigan #workandtravel #westervilleohiofamilyphotographer #columbusohiofamilyphotographer
Spring and fall are popular times of the year for photos, and for good reason. But summer is also an AMAZING time to capture photos with your loved ones!!!
Some of my favorite summer sessions:
☀️River/creek sessions ☀️Greenhouse sessions ☀️Wildflower sessions ☀️Park & green space sessions ☀️Prairie field & tall grasses sessions ☀️Farm sessions ☀️Historic downtown street sessions
Lots of options. I’d love to help you figure out what would be a perfect fit and vibe for your fam!

It was an immense honor and joy to be part of this very special session with them. From the very first moment of meeting them, I could see they were perfect together. They are wonderful, kind, genuine people, and can just feel the natural and perfectly comfortable way between them. They put those around them at ease!
It was SO much fun to be "in on it", to know what was coming and to watch it unfold before my eyes.
And of course we made sure to include their pup Nolan in the shoot as well! He had a "My humans are getting married" bandana. Absolutely adorable!!
I could not be happier for them, or more excited for their future together!!! Congratulations Justin & Ashlyn (and Nolan)!! 🤍🤍🤍

Somewhere in the middle, he got down on one knee!!! . . . . SHE SAID YES!!! This was such a joy to be a part of (yep, I was in on it!), to witness, and to capture!
These two are such sweet, wonderful, beautiful people and I could not be happier for them!!! CONGRATULATIONS Justin & Ashlyn (and your sweet pup Nolan)!!!!

Sessions with Silas (this needs to be a podcast or tv show) are a BLAST. Seeing his love for his parents and his pups pulls all the heart strings! He`s grown so much since seeing him last year – I remember him being much more shy and unsure last year. This session he was outgoing and open, and it was so much FUN… a JOY to capture his many sweet and silly expressions!
These moments are fleeting.. priceless.. and I LOVE that the dogs are involved in each of the G fam`s sessions!

I loved this session with FOUR generations of wonderful family, some who came from out of the state!
Extended family sessions are so important. You might remember me talking about my own "Grams" who passed away a few years ago at the age of 96. I treasure the photo session(s) we had with her. These moments with Great Grandma are precious. Phyllis was so funny, laughing when she joked "they made me do this!" But watching her smile and hold hands with her loved ones, enjoying these moments together… priceless.
Get in the photo. You`ll NEVER be sorry you captured these moments together.
